We’re still a few weeks away from the release of the new double-album from the Red Hot Chili Peppers called “Return Of The Canteen Dream” but the band is keeping our appetites’ for new music fed by sprinkling new music over the last few weeks.

The latest is a song called EDDIE which yes is a tribute to the late Eddie Van Halen.

“Sometimes we don’t realize how deeply affected and connected we are to artists until the day they die. Eddie Van Halen was a one of a kind,” Anthony Kiedis said.

The song came about the day after Eddie Van Halen passed away. Kiedis said Flea came to rehearsal with an emotional bass line that quickly John Fruscainte, Chad Smith and Anthony Kiedis started to play along with the as Kiedis said: “pretty soon with all our hearts, a song in his honor effortlessly unfolded”.
