International Women’s Day: Joan Jett

Born Joan Marie Larkin in 1958, Jett was a trailblazer from a young age. Following her first guitar teacher telling her that “girls don't play rock and roll”, she worked even harder to prove that women and girls rock, forming The Runaways as a teenager. Following the band's split over creative differences in 1979, she launched a solo career that keeps her on stage to this day, enduring as an amazing role model for young women to look up to.
