Dave Grohl says that Foo Fighters’ new album has “got groove”.

This past week, Grohl joined his mother Virginia for a Mother’s Day-themed interview with Los Angeles’ 98.7 FM. Virginia spoke about her book, From Cradle to Stage, in which she interviewed other rock stars’ moms about raising them. She also revealed that the two were working on a docu-series inspired by the book.

When asked about new music, Dave Grohl replied that they were supposed to be out on tour right now, and that he’s bummed that dates had to be postponed because he’s really “excited to go out and play” Foo Fighters’ new album.

“The record is so good, we’re so excited for people to hear it, we’re so excited to go out and play it,” he said.

“It’s filled with anthemic, huge, sing-along rock songs. It’s kind of like a dance record, but not an EDM, disco, modern dance record. It’s got groove,” he continued. “To me, it’s our David Bowie’s Let’s Dance record. That’s what we wanted to make, we wanted to make this really up, fun record.”

Whenever that album drops, it will be the Foo’s tenth studio album and their first since 2017’s Concrete and Gold.
