Teenager Arrested – Fatal Crash – Cyclist

Kingston Police haven’t said what, if any, charges a teenage girl is facing following a fatal crash involving a cyclist early Friday morning. The male cyclist died after being hit by a vehicle on Perth Road at the entrance to the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Authority.

A vehicle driven by the teen girl was found in the ditch on the west side of Perth Road.

No further information has been released by Kingston Police.

 

ATV Fatal – ATV serious injuries

A man died in an ATV crash on Friday in North Frontenac and another person suffered serious injuries in a crash involving an ATV on Saturday near Kaladar.

Gerard MacDonald of North Dundas Township was pronounced dead at the scene the ATV crash around noon on Friday near Gravel Lake…north of Plevna.  The ATV he was a passenger on left the trail and went over a steep embankment.  The driver was taken to hospital in Perth with minor injuries.

 

A person was airlifted to Kingston General Hospital on Saturday following the crash in Kaladar.

The person suffered serious injuries.

No other information has been released by the OPP.

 

Multiple Charges – Domestic Violence

A 39-year-old Kingston man is facing multiple charges following a domestic dispute and a single vehicle crash north of Kingston.

The OPP says the crash took place just before 10 pm last Wednesday at Dessert Lake Road and Highway 38 in Verona.  A man was treated by paramedics following a single vehicle crash.

Paul Kehoe has been charged with mischief under five thousand dollars, theft of a motor vehicle, break and enter, and impaired driving.

 

Regatta

Kingston has been invaded by young sailors, again.

Kingston is hosting the Laser 4.7 youth World Championships this week.

Opening ceremonies took place yesterday.

The competition involves 185 athletes from 35 countries.

 

Beaches – Farm Show – Blues Festival

The Toronto rock band…The Beaches wrapped up the annual Back to the Farm concert at MacKinnon Brothers Brewing in Bath.

The concert yesterday featured local acts and the Toronto based band wrapped things up last night.

 

The Limestone City Blues Festival kicks off on Thursday night in Kingston.

The opening night concert will take place in Confederation Park.

The park will also host music during the daytime throughout the festival.

The feature concerts take place Friday night in the Hub and on Saturday night in Springer Market Square.
