Trump – El Paso and Dayton

United States President Donald Trump allegedly plans to visit El Paso, Texas tomorrow, following Saturday’s mass shooting that left 22 dead and more injured.

Trump may also travel to Dayton, Ohio, tomorrow. A second weekend shooting in the city left nine people dead.

The potential visit to El Paso is receiving some backlash from those who believe the El Paso shooter could have been inspired by Trump’s language.


Toronto – Weekend Shootings

Nearly a dozen separate shootings took place across Toronto over the long weekend.

There have been no fatalities but at least 14 people were taken to hospital with various injuries. One shooting at a downtown Toronto nightclub left at least seven people injured.

Toronto Mayor John Tory released a statement reaffirming his position on banning handguns, which he says would address gun violence in the city.


Princess Street Promenade

Thousands of people took part in the Princess Street Promenade, over the weekend.

The Promenade took over Princess Street between Division and Ontario Streets from 10-5 Saturday.

According to organizers Downtown Kingston! over 80 businesses and 60 local groups took part.

Money was also raised for The Partner’s in Mission Food Bank, throughout the afternoon.



A young Kingston Swimmer is heading to The World Championship in England.

Abbi Trip, a member of the YMCA Penguins, will compete in the World Para Swimming Championship in September.

With a win, Tripp would qualify for the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

This is the 2nd Time Tripp has made the Canadian Team.
