Byelections

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will call byelections for three ridings in the coming days.

It includes the riding of York-Simcoe in Ontario, left open by the resignation of Conservative MP Peter Van Loan, and the BC Riding where federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh is running.

Trudeau’s office says he will call the byelections early this month, with the votes set to take place in February.

US Government Shutdown

U-S President Donald Trump says he remains “ready and willing” to work with Democrats to pass a government-spending bill, but refuses to budge on the five BILLION dollars he wants in funding for a border wall.

He met with Republican and Democratic congressional leaders at the White House about border security yesterday, which by all accounts, made no progress.

The partial shutdown is entering its 13th day, another attempt to end it will be made tomorrow.

Snow Plow Reminder

It’s a new year, but the same snow plow guidelines in the city of Kingston.

After seeing a fair bit of snow overnight, you can expect to see plows out this morning.

The City is reminding everyone to stay safe around plows, by giving them plenty of space and patience.

You can also volunteer to be a snow angel on their website, to help neighbours clear their driveways.
