Roseanne returned to prime time with two consecutive episodes this week after a 21-year hiatus and immediately tackling ussues that are important to people in today’s political landscape.

One of the most interesting plot lines is the reveal that Roseanne and sister Jackie  had been on bad terms ever since the 2016 election.   During a family dinner they took jabs at each other. Jackie, a Hillary Clinton supporter, brought Russian-flavored dressing to a family dinner. Roseanne, a fan of President Donald Trump, sarcastically asked Jackie if she’d like to take a knee during grace. The episode also addressed the original series finale in which Dan (John Goodman) seemingly died from a heart attack by saying he was simply asleep. “You looked happy. I thought maybe you moved on,” Roseanne told her husband. There were some disappointments though, our greatest hope was that George Clooney would make a cameo on the reboot.  You may not remember but one of the first big acting gigs Clooney had, before his launch to fame with ER was a role as Jackie and Rosanne’s boss at the plastic factory.

Roseanne Barr admitted this week there was one actor who turned down the job: Oscar winner George Clooney. “Well, George Clooney didn’t want to come on–so that was a bummer, but he lives in Italy,”

There were some pretty amazing cameos in the original seasons of the the series so there is lots of hope for future guest stars.  Remember the time Bruce Willis was on the show?

And who could forget Neil Patrick Harris?
