Goat County

Frontenac County’s Economic Development Manager says it is time to prepare for goats.

Former city councillor Richard Allen delivered a report to County Council yesterday saying the new baby formula factory coming to Kingston will provide an opportunity to revitalize agriculture in Frontenac County.  Feihe International of China will be using goat milk to produce some of its formula and needs a large guaranteed supply.

Allen was part of the delegation that visited the company in China.

Allen says there will need to be large goat farms to fill the demand and there should be all kinds of spinoffs including veterinarian services.
