We may not be American, but this is a good indication of our intake of content.

Nielson’s Q1 2016 Total Audience Report has shown that the average American spends 10 hours and 39 minutes a day consuming media.

The astute reader will remember that there are only 24 hours in a day, and 10 hours and 39 minutes is almost half of that time.

A big reasoning for this is the fact that daily usage of smartphones and tablets have gone up, it indicates that americans spend an average of 37 more minutes on their phones than last year, and 12 more minutes on tablets.

So if you’re reading this on a tablet or a phone, the realization has just dawned on you.

If you’re reading it on a computer, there’s almost a 50/50 chance that you just came from watching an internet video or TV episode.

That’s a lot of content eh?

So maybe we should take this as a sign to maybe cut back on the internet and TV so we can- oh wait here’s a cute gif of two dogs and a cat cuddling together.
