The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has announced that Bill Murray will be this year’s recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. “I’m honored by the award and by its timing,” Murray said in a statement. “I believe Mark Twain has rolled over in his grave so much for so long, that this news won’t disturb his peace.” The 65-year-old actor’s comedic work includes starring roles in Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day, as well as a stint on Saturday Night Live. Previous recipients of the Mark Twain Prize include Tina Fey, Will Ferrell and last year’s winner, Eddie Murphy.
