Caturday 600x200

SOURCE Kingston Humane Society

Norman is a loving friendly boy, who loves to be with people. A very social guy, he will not only listen to his people, but talk back when spoken to. Norman has an extraordinary personality but is on the search for an equally extraordinary human willing to take special care of him. Norman has FIV, a disease transmitted to other cats primarily through mating and bite wounds. For this reason Norman has been neutered and would need to live as a single cat or with another FIV positive cat.
Cats with FIV may not show signs or symptoms for years, but can become severely immune compromised making them at a higher risk of illness and infection. Because of this, FIV cats should be solely indoor house pets to keep them safe. A FIV cat kept indoors, living a stress free life with regular vet visits to monitor their health can live a very good life.
Any interested adopter for Norman should do research into owning a FIV positive cat and be willing to find a vet or work with their current vet on developing an understanding of expectations of care. Norman may not live as long as your average cat, but the love he gives would make as many years as he does get so worthwhile. If you think you could give Norman the dedicated care he needs, please reach out to our adoptions team for more information.
