Lily MaraNice to meet you, I’m Miss Mara. My sister, Lily, and I were brought into the Kingston Humane Society when our beloved owner was no longer able to care for us. It was a sad goodbye, but we are hopeful that our happily ever afters are just around the corner. Lily and I are both Shih Tzus, but an easy way to tell us apart is that I’m a little smaller! Don’t let my small stature fool you; what I may lack in size, I make up for in personality. Another way in which I am different from my sister is that I have a grade 3 heart murmur. Though this hasn’t affected my quality of life so far, the veterinarian should take an extra special listen to my “thump-thump-thump” each time I visit. I really hope that my heart doesn’t affect my chances at finding a forever home. I want one of those more than anything. Because of this, I will be adopted out at the special needs adoption fee of just $135. With this flat fee, I will come home microchipped, spayed, current with vaccines, dewormed, treated with preventative flea medication, and you will receive 6 weeks of free pet insurance. That seems like quite the bargain if you ask me! The people here at the KHS describe me as a sweet, social butterfly, and I would agree with them. I am eager to meet new friends, both humans and animals alike. Much like my sister, I would be happiest in a home with children over 8. As I have lived with Lily for my whole life, I may be happy an animal sibling as well. If you think that I could be your next lap dog, please come into the Kingston Humane Society and meet me today!
