March 24: Kingston Elite Cheerleading is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner

At the RACF hall in Kingston to help raise funds for a cheerleading competition in April in Philadelphia.
The athletes will be serving the guests at this event. All proceeds go directly to the athletes travel fees.

March 25: Chili Cook-off

The Gananoque & District Humane Society is holding its annual Chili Cook-off from 11 am to 2 pm at the Lansdowne Community Building, 1 Jessie St., Lansdowne.

We are looking for chili competitors to register with us – it’s free – to show us your chili and be part of the competition. There are prizes for several categories. Along with chili we’ll have live rock by R-Banned, we’re licensed for beer, and we have a silent auction, a bake table, and a very sociable good time. Free general admission. Tickets to taste and vote on all the chilis you want, with sides, are $10 for adults, $5 for kids 12 and under.

March 26: “OFF THE CHARTS” A Concert Celebrating Women of Song

2:30pm at Chalmers United Church.
Portions of the proceeds will be donated to the “Danielle Duchesneau Fund”, established in cooperation with Kingston Interval House, in memory Danielle, a young woman murdered in Kingston by her ex-boyfriend. The Fund is for women who have been or are victims of violence.
Sponsored by “She Sings” Women’s Choir and “Frontenac Women’s Chorus”.

Attend WRITE FOR PEACE! PEACE IS RIGHT!  *A PeaceQuest collective letter writing event*  At the Rustic Spud 175 Bagot ST, Kingston 1 PM – 4 PM
FREE EVENT!

We supply pens, paper, envelopes, stamps, talking points and snacks. We invite you to join us, met new interesting people, and share your views with our local, provincial, and national leaders on topics that matter to you!
– Speak up about the importance of a healthy environment and our right to clean water.
– Insist on reconciliation and justice for indigenous peoples.
– Object to the Canada’s sale of arms to Saudi Arabia.
– Ask the Prime Minister to create a Department of Peace and our mayor to join Mayors for Peace.
