MAY 2 – 27: An Art Show by Bath Artisans

Free Admission. We invite you to their showing at Window Art Gallery, Princess and Victoria, Kingston – parking off Victoria. Artists will be hand Sat. May 5th 2pm – 4pm for an Open House, but gallery staff will be on hand every day for the month. Refreshments will be served.

MAY 4 – 6: Hockey Sports Fests 10th Annual Tournaments

Ontario Prospects Junior Showcase, Kingston, Ontario. Our annual Junior Showcase is for boys born between 1999 – 2005 and will host over 40 teams this spring. This year we have teams from across Ontario, Quebec, USA, and Russia competing in front of scouts from various schools and junior teams. We invite hockey fans to watch our local Kingston players compete against the Moscow Selects from Moscow, Russia. This matchup takes place on Friday May 4th at 6:30pm. Join us at the FL rink at the Invista Centre as Town Crier, Chris Whyman, opens up the game between the Kingston Kimco Beast and Moscow Selects. These two teams are comprised of U16 players. We encourage you to wear your team jersey if you have one!
About Hockey Sports Fests
Hockey Sports Fests is celebrating our 10th year hosting sports events in Kingston! Our events host over 400 teams each year and offer friendly competitive tournaments for boys, girls, and adults. We recently wrapped up a successful weekend hosting 84 teams at our Adult Hockey Classic and High School Hockey Invitational and we’re back at it again this weekend at the Invista Centre in Kingston. We offer athletes the chance to participate in an innovative tournament while practicing different sports in a safe and healthy environment. Our spring hockey and ringette events are family-oriented to allow the athletes and their families the chance to visit our beautiful City of Kingston, Ontario while playing sports.

May 5: CRCA Lemoine Point Tree Planting

The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority and the Friends of Lemoine Point are encouraging area residents to come out to the Lemoine Point Conservation Area from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., to help plant trees. This ambitious reforestation initiative promotes community engagement and environmental awareness. Besides increasing the number of trees in the local ecosystem, participants will have a chance to learn about the importance of green spaces within an urban setting.
Folks coming to the event are advised to bring outdoor clothing and footwear appropriate to weather conditions, work gloves, a shovel, insect repellant and sunscreen. Come to the north parking lot (Coverdale Drive entrance) to the Lemoine Point Conservation area for instructions. For more information, call Peter at (613) 389-4187 or Rick at (613) 389-3651. Lemoine Point Conservation Area is located in the west end of Kingston on the shore of Collins Bay. There are entrances off Front Road and Coverdale Drive. There is no entrance fee. May 5: CRCA Frog Night Hike

The entire family will enjoy an opportunity to get up close and personal with everyone’s favourite hopping amphibian as part of the CRCA Frog Night Hike, which takes place at 6:30 p.m. at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area.
Participants will learn about the various frog species living in the area as they take a short walk and listen for the various frog calls. To ensure we have enough hike leaders, pre-registration is required. Go to www.crca.ca/online-services to sign up. The cost is $6 per person, which includes the regular gate fee. Kids under one get in free.
The Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area is located on Division Street just two kilometres north of Highway 401. Entry fees are: $5.50 per person for adults and children over 12, and $3 per person for children 12 and under, to a maximum fee of $14 per car. Annual passes are available for $80 per year.
