Details

A&W’s annual Burgers to Beat MS campaign is in its 9th year and has raised more than $9 million. It is the single largest annual corporate fundraiser for the MS Society of Canada.

On Thursday, August 24th, $2 from every Teen Burger® sold at A&W restaurants across Canada will be donated to the MS Society of Canada.

Supporters can also donate through rounding up their bill at the register, purchasing $1, $2 and $5 paper cutouts, giving through in-store donation mugs, and through other local restaurant fundraising initiatives. As well, donations can be made online at BurgersToBeatMS.ca.

This year two-time Olympic bronze medalist and Canadian women’s national soccer team captain Christine Sinclair, recently appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada, joins the fight in honour of her mother, who lives with MS. She will travel to select A&W restaurants across Canada on August 23rd and 24th, meeting the staff and guests, and helping to raise money

Beginning mid-August, A&W will also donate $2 to the MS Society for every share on Facebook (up to $40,000) of the Burgers to Beat MS online video, featuring Christine Sinclair and affable A&W spokesperson (and brand personality) Allen. This video will be available on A&W’s Facebook page.

Nearly 900 A&W restaurants across Canada will host Burgers to Beat MS events with delicious food, music, games and activities – uniting Canadians from coast to coast to support a great cause. A&W is a leader in the Canadian burger industry, serving beef raised without the use of steroids or hormones, chicken raised without the use of antibiotics, eggs from hens fed a vegetarian diet without animal by-products, and pork raised without the use of antibiotics. Additionally, it just improved its famous Root Beer to contain natural cane sugar and all-natural flavours, such as sarsaparilla root, licorice, birch bark and anise.
