Meet Austin Rogers, a bearded bartender from New York who has racked up an impressive $188,700 during his five days on the show so far. Rogers is also winning on Twitter, where #AustinOnJeopardy is trending because of his wacky antics. Highlights from Rogers’ time on the show include him thoughtfully stroking his beard, pretending to take out an imaginary bottle of booze from his jacket pocket, and acting surprised and waving excitedly when the camera focuses on him. He also drew laughs for sounding incredibly depressed while answering a question about The Eagles. “You don’t like The Eagles?“ host Alex Trebek asked. Rogers responded by sadly shaking his head no. But he did answer the question correctly. “It’s weird to see a Wes Anderson character come to life and play Jeopardy,“ one viewer tweeted. Another commented, “This Jeopardy contestant is definitely the love child of every male indie band lead singer. Ever.“
