CAS – How to Help

Family and Children’s Services of Frontenac, Lennox and Addington says it needs three things…and at the top of the list is more foster parents.

Executive Director Steve Woodman says the agency is critically short of foster parents.  Woodman says they currently have a significant number of children in group homes, many of them outside the community.

The agency’s 2017 Report to the Community also asks for public support through donations and understanding of its work…including knowing when to call if you know of a family struggling to take care of their kids.

Goat Vigil

A vigil has been held for the goat killed by a transport truck on the 401 in Kingston on Tuesday night.

Kingston animal rescue workers held the vigil last night for OJ – the name they gave the stray goat they’d been trying to capture since the last week of August.  Its owner has never come forward.

Krystal Petitpas of Homes 4 Paws, Heather Patterson of Forgotten Ferals and Carla Moore of Happy Trails Farm Sanctuary and several others got together last night.

The rescue workers would like to see people trained in helping rescue the strays.  They say nobody is responsible for stray farm animals and that reduces the chances of them being saved.
