LaSalle Causeway

The work being done on the LaSalle Causeway on the weekend wasn’t finished and it was closed again last night.  Public Services and Procurement Canada says it will close again tonight from 9:30 until 6am tomorrow to allow for completing of the upgrades to the lift bridge.

It says pedestrians and cyclists will have access throughout the closure.

Collins Bay – Lockdowns

An exceptional search is being conducted and visits have been cancelled for inmates in the maximum security unit at Collins Bay Institution.

An inmate was injured last Thursday night in a fight with several prisoners and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

The Correctional Service says the assailants have been identified and the appropriate action have been taken.

The medium security unit at Collins Bay was locked down last week to allow staff to search that area of the prison.

Amherstview – Indecent Act

A man from Amherstview has been charged with committing an indecent act more than three months after a man exposed himself to cashiers at a west end grocery store.

Kingston Police arrested the 29 year old at his home on Sunday.

He’s been charged after a man went through a checkout at the grocery store on February 15th and exposed himself to the cashier.  Police say he left his cart at the end of the checkout…went back into the store and went through a second checkout where he exposed himself again.
