Missing Girl

A 14 year old missing from her home in Kingston for a week has been found.
Kingston Police say Sabra Jones was located safe and sound in the Wycliffe Crescent area of Kingston around 10 last night.
Jones had been missing since Monday, March 23rd when she failed to return to her residence on a school bus at the end of the day.

Domestic Assault

A 27 year old man from Kingston is facing charges after a case of domestic violence.
Police were called to an apartment on John Counter Boulevard around 10 last night to investigate a complaint about a domestic dispute.
A woman had been assaulted during a dispute and police arrested a 27 year old man.

Boy Approached

Police are hoping to track down a man who approached a 10 year old boy in the area of Patrick and Fraser Streets last Thursday.  The man pulled over in a vehicle and motioned to the boy to come forward at about 8:15 in the morning last Thursday.  The boy ran home.
The man is described as being in his thirties…he has brown hair but is balding, is missing teeth and was wearing orange sunglasses with black rims.  He was driving an off-white or silver SUV similar to a KIA Sportage.
Anyone with information about the man is being asked to contact Kingston Police or Crime Stoppers.


Provincial Money – Homelessness

The Ontario government is giving Kingston $8.1 million dollars over two years to reduce homelessness.
The money is part of grants totaling $587 million announced for municipalities across Ontario yesterday.
Kingston plans to eliminate homelessness in ten years and has adopted a plan that includes putting homeless people in housing and providing them with counselling and support services.

Bowl for Kids Sake

The Bowl for Kids Sake fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington went over the top.
The goal of the bowling tournament on Saturday was $38,000.  It raised $39,015.
The organization says the money will help it provide ongoing programming and help match more children in the Kingston region with a big brother or big sister.
